Southern Cross gathers every week at Bergvliet High School, in the Southern Suburbs, to celebrate what God is doing in our lives, to encourage one another and be encouraged by the truth of God’s word and the salvation we have through Jesus. We proclaim God’s truth, submitting ourselves to it, seeking to be transformed. We collectively worship, not as disconnected individuals but as a community, through music, teaching, prayer, and sacraments.
Below are some of the elements that featured in our gatherings this past week:
Confession (Said together)
Almighty God, creator of the universe
and judge of all,
we confess that we have sinned against you,
in thought, word and deed.
We have not loved you as we ought,
we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves,
and we are sinners by nature.
Most merciful God,
through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
forgive us all the evil we have done,
and the good we have left undone
and grant that we serve and please you
from this time forward,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
