Southern Cross gathers every week at Bergvliet High School, in the Southern Suburbs, to celebrate what God is doing in our lives, to encourage one another and be encouraged by the truth of God’s word and the salvation we have through Jesus. We proclaim God’s truth, submitting ourselves to it, seeking to be transformed. We collectively worship, not as disconnected individuals but as a community, through music, teaching, prayer, and sacraments.
Below are some of the elements that featured in our gatherings this past week:
Grant, we pray, almighty God, that as we believe Your only begotten Son to have ascended into heaven, so we may also in heart and mind there ascend, and with Him continually dwell; who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
God, the king of glory, You have exalted Your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to Your kingdom in heaven; leave us not desolate, but send Your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to where our Saviour Christ has gone before, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for evermore. Amen.
